GRECO Conference on “Gender Dimensions of Corruption” – presentations and materials

GRECO organised a conference on “Gender dimensions of corruption” under the auspices of the Senate of the Parliament and the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic which took place in Prague, on 13 December 2013, in the Wallenstein Palace. The conference brought together 70 participants from the GRECO member States, as well as representatives of international organisations and civil society.

GRECO Conference on “Gender Dimensions of Corruption” – Prague, 13 December 2013

Since 2012, the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) has been looking into gender dimensions of corruption and reflecting on whether and how a gender perspective could add value to GRECO’s work.

In order to take stock of national experiences in identifying, preventing and reducing gender-specific manifestations of corruption and exchange information on available research and good practice, GRECO has organised a conference on “Gender dimensions of corruption” under the auspices of the Senate of the Parliament and the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. It was held in Prague, on 13 December 2013, in the Wallenstein Palace.

Valeriia Kokhan, expert of the Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research participated at the conference as a speaker and presented "Combating corruption project in Ukraine" results concerning gender aspects of corruption in higher education in Ukraine.

Problems of judges' discipline liability are complex fact

In Kyiv the results of monitoring judicial discipline decisions have been discussed. Statistical data was announced during a roundtable on Monitoring judicial discipline decisions results, which was held in the High Qualification Commission of Judges on July 18. Research conducted by experts of Kharkov Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research supported by the Project USAID "Fair Justice".

Problem issues of judicial discipline decisions are to be discussed in Kyiv

July 18 at the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (Kyiv, Mekhanizatoriv Str. 9) the round table discussions on project results "Monitoring judicial discipline decisions" will be conducted. The study was implemented by the Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research in February- June 2013 and supported by USAID "FAIR Justice".

The main problem issues in the employment for people with disabilities

On March 7, NGO "Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research" held a focus group discussion among people with disabilities dedicated to their employment. The event was supported by the European program of the International Foundation "Renaissance."

Are the labor rights of people with disabilities in Ukraine provided?

On March, 7 from 11:00 to 12:30 in Kharkiv (St. Sumska, 39, of. 156) focus-group discussion on the implementation in Ukraine EU standards in the employment area for persons with disabilities will be held. This event will be held by Kharkiv NGO "Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research" supported by the European program of the International Foundation "Renaissance."
