Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research is founded on November, 30 1998 by group of Ukrainian lawyers, sociologists and political scientists.

Since its inception the Institute has become one of the leading non-governmental research and training institution in the country. The Institute has extensive professional experience in the preparation of basic analytical studies that are essential for the development of Ukrainian legislation, participation in law drafting, in conducting large scale sociological studies, in the organization of events to protect human rights, conducting roundtables, seminars and professional training. The Institute actively publish results of studies.

Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research was created in form of public organization – entity under Ukrainian law. The Institute headed by President that presides in the Board of directors – Board. There are three specialized centers in the Institute: Analytical Center, Expert-consultative Center, Center of Applied Sociology and Prognostication and Executive board.
